Over the weekend, radio broadcasting personality Paul Harvey died at the age of 90. His long career and distinctive voice made him famous and beloved by many.

Our friend Paul Harvey

Our friend Paul Harvey

Mr. Harvey did radio features for The Salvation Army for several years. Little stories that gave his listeners a bit of insight into what the Army does for people who are in crisis and need to be cared for.

One of my favorites is called “Batty Hattie.” In about a minute and a half, Mr. Harvey managed to draw out a story that is the essence and substance of what the Army is to so many.  What a gift!

Mr. Harvey had a way with words and a deep love of talking about what’s right in the world.  We’re so glad he liked talking about us.

With our deep gratitude for presenting his special Paul Harvey view of things, we say goodbye for now.  See you on the other side!
