Salvation Army in Alaska celebrates its “Transformed Treasures”

Submitted by on May 4, 2009 – One Comment

Our Alaska Division just had its annual “Transformed Treasures” event this weekend. Each year, Local artists select items in our thrift store and turn them into one-of-a-kind collectors pieces that are auctioned off to support the work of The Salvation Army.

Here’s a Flickr slideshow with stunning before and after photos of six works of art.

Created with flickr slideshow.

To us, the real “Transformed Treasures” are the men and women who begin our programs defeated, addicted, and hopeless and conclude their time with us victorious, sober, and hopeful. Thank you to the volunteer Alaskan artists who help us raise money so more men and women can be transformed by the power of God’s love.
