This year’s Rock the Red Kettle Concert was incredible! We were blessed to have talented artists such as Shawn Mendes, Becky G, R5, Bea Miller, Exist Elsewhere, and Josh Levi grace the stage in support of our 124th Red Kettle Campaign. A revolutionary advertising concept for The Salvation Army in Norway

Submitted by on March 29, 2010 – 2 Comments

I’ve written about great Salvation Army ad campaigns on this blog before. Remember the Portland, Maine guerrilla ad campaign last summer that cost almost nothing? They “advertised” on pizza boxes, coffee cup sleeves, and restroom mirrors, for example. Click here if you want to read more about it.

Now, I’m bringing you news of a Scandinavian ad campaign that was featured recently on the Ads of the World blog. The Norwegian firm, Try in Oslo, Norway created a stunning ad built into a coin collection box.

The ads pictured here are on the side of a bus shelter. Click the images on the left to enlarge them so you can see the round coin slot in the center of each ad. In the first ad, the coins drop in to form the shape of a bed frame.

Translated to English, the ads say, “Thank you. One small coin can make a big difference.”

As the coins drop into the ad image pictured to the left, the coins create a roof over the man depicted in the ad.

Such a creative and beautiful ad. Let’s hope it motivates people to action too.
