Stores that welcome our kettles; shop them (often!) this Christmas

Submitted by on November 15, 2010 – 4 Comments

Before long, the familiar sight and sound of The Salvation Army kettles and bell ringers will greet shoppers all over the United States.

Begun in San Francisco in 1891, the red kettle campaign is a symbol of caring during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons.

The following stores have agreed to welcome our kettles here in the Western United States, but most of the corporate agreements leave the final decision about kettles up to their local management staff.

Drop by these stores (often!) with your gift for the kettle:**
Albertsons – California, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Utah and Wyoming
Bi-Mart – Idaho, Oregon and Washington
Big Lots – Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Utah and Wyoming
Bloomingdale’s – California and Nevada
Fred Meyer – Alaska, Oregon and Washington
Fry’s Electronics – Primarily California
Haggen, Inc. – Oregon and Washington
Hobby Lobby – Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming

WalMart – Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Utah and Wyoming

Just because you don’t see your favorite store on the list doesn’t mean you won’t find our kettles there this year. Independent stores, small regional chains and special venues will often host kettles too.

Thank you to the many stores who support the needs of their community by hosting a Salvation Army kettle during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season.
