Brand survey in OC ranks Salvation Army #1

Folks like me in The Salvation Army world woke up to a sweet surprise today. The Orange County Register newspaper ran a column about a yearly brand survey that rates local organizations in 10 categories. The 2014 Orange County Most Trustworthy Brands award is a co-production of advertising and communications firm DGWB, Cal State Fullerton and OC Metro magazine.

Rock the Red Kettle on Dec. 15!

The Salvation Army, Sky Blue Group and Caruso Affiliated are proud to present the first annual Rock the Red Kettle Concert, featuring a mix of today’s top and up-and-coming performers, including Emily Osment, Ashlyne Huff, New Hollow, One Call, Savvy, Stevie Brock and a few special surprise guests.

This free concert, which is open to the general public, will begin at 7 PM PST at The Americana at Brand shopping center in Glendale, CA on Wednesday, December 15. The concert will also be streamed live at www.ustream.tv/rocktheredkettle, where supporters can click to donate while watching the show.

Rock the Red Kettle is designed to raise awareness for The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign, the oldest annual charitable fundraiser of its kind in the United States. Money raised during the campaign helps the Army serve nearly 30 million Americans in need each year in communities nationwide through a wide array of programs including toys for kids, coats for the homeless and food for the hungry.

This year, The Salvation Army also launched its first national text-to-give program. Through December 24, donors can text the word “GIVE” to 85944 to make a $10 donation to the Red Kettle Campaign.
