As lava flows toward Hawaii town, Salvation Army is prepared to help

According to the Weather Channel, hot, molten lava from the Kilauea volcano is slowing creeping toward 900 homes in the city of Pahoa on the Big Island of Hawaii. Thankfully, Salvation Army personnel are already prepared to respond with food and water for displaced residents, emergency management workers and volunteers through the use of our mobile kitchen – called a “canteen.”

Warm nights, cool water, & great flick!

The Salvation Army Kroc Center in San Diego is hosting a summer movie series called “Hot Kroc Nights” that sounds like big fun to me!

Just image it; a hot muggy night, and you floating on an inner tube watching Gnomeo and Juliet on a big screen TV at the Kroc. Could a summer activity be any better?
