Update: Salvation Army’s efforts to slow spread of Ebola virus in Africa

The Salvation Army is supporting 5,000 people with food since many who have recovered from Ebola often return home to find their possessions removed to ward off further infection. And teachers from The Salvation Army’s 12 schools in Liberia are being trained to provide Ebola awareness and hygiene education in the communities around the schools.

The Salvation Army in Southern Cal holds annual Dirt Dash & Mud Run!

Every year at the end of the summer, The Salvation Army in Southern California holds their Malibu Canyon Dirt Dash to raise money for the camping season at Camp Mt. Crags and Gilmore in the Malibu mountains.

The event features a 5 and 10 kilometer run through Malibu Creek State Park and an optional mud run and obstacle course too. Each participant can set an individual fundraising goal or raise money as a team to help provide camping opportunities to kids all over the Los Angeles area.
