From the Bonanza set!

In 2007, TV Guide named him the second most popular TV father, after Cliff Huxtable (played by this actor featured in a Salvation Army old-school Christmas ad).

A long-time animal lover, one of his four-legged friends appears with him in his Red Kettle ad, posted below.

Can you guess who it is?

A dozen or more notable people, including actors, athletes, comedians and musicians, filmed short public service ads to promote The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign from the 1950s to the 1980s.
