Is there a better day than National Donut Day? Maybe Christmas. Or my birthday perhaps.

But in my book, any day that’s built around extolling the virtues of the donut is a one heck of a fantastic day.

And our friends at Entemann’s seem to agree. In support of the 75th anniversary of National Donut Day on June 1, Entemann’s will give $1 dollar (up to $25,000) to The Salvation Army for every “like” on their Facebook page from now until June 23!

And, if you’re wondering what the connection is between The Salvation Army and donuts, click on the video below to learn more.

(Hint: Salvation Army donut lassies popularized them during wartime so when soldiers returned home and began to ask for the yummy treat state-side, a grateful nation responded!)
