Christine has had this beautiful vintage lace dress – decorated with olive green rosettes – for three years.

She bought it off the rack of “higher priced” items at her favorite Salvation Army Family Store. It was all of 6 or 7 dollars!

Typically, she checks out the racks of special finds to see if anything catches her eye. The color of this dress and the lace pattern drew her right in!

She found it while shopping on a weekday after work. It was summertime and she’d been finding a lot of knitted, crocheted or beaded vests but this dress kept catching her eye so she knew she had to have it.

When she pulled it from the rack she realized that this was an overlay piece of a vintage dress set; there was no lining or slip.

She searched for slips to wear under it for months but never found what quite what she wanted. Her friend – who is also an expert thrift store shopper – gave her the beautiful slip she’s wearing under the dress pictured as a gift last Christmas!

:: Here’s a piece of good advice from Christine: when you see something beautiful, special, unusual or vintage that catches your eye and is a good price, get it and figure out what to wear with it later.

It took Christine almost three years to get the right slip to wear under this vintage beauty. It was well worth the wait. Now she has an absolutely stunning ensemble, don’t you think?
