This year’s Rock the Red Kettle Concert was incredible! We were blessed to have talented artists such as Shawn Mendes, Becky G, R5, Bea Miller, Exist Elsewhere, and Josh Levi grace the stage in support of our 124th Red Kettle Campaign. What we didn’t know that night was that watching from the audience was a pair of talented young women who not only heard our message about Doing The Most good and giving back this holiday season, but took it upon themselves to help us spread the word.

jcpenney – founding partner of #GivingTuesday – helps The Salvation Army

Submitted by on November 27, 2012 – 2 Comments

As a founding partner of #GivingTuesday, our good friends at jcpenney join the nationwide movement today November 27, on the first day of their ‘jcp Holiday Giving Tour.’

The #GivingTuesday initiative unites families, communities, companies and individuals to inspire Americans to join in acts of giving and celebrate our country’s great tradition of generosity.

jcpenney stores will also be providing acts of generosity to customers throughout the holiday season by distributing collectible holiday buttons featuring one of 50 classic designs and holiday expressions.

A unique code on the back of each button will offer customers a chance to win one of millions of gifts including great American vacations, tickets to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, jcp merchandise, gift cards, and more.

jcpenney will also be celebrating #GivingTuesday by donating one dollar to The Salvation Army — up to $100,000 — for every jcpenney holiday button redeemed at on November 27.

So get over to your local jcpenney store today and grab a button to help The Salvation Army.

And, from now until the end of the year, the jcp Holiday Giving Tour’ is making it possible for customers to give back.

With support from their charitable giving program, jcp Cares, customers can donate to The Salvation Army by rounding up their store purchases to the nearest dollar and giving the difference to The Salvation Army.

Whenever you shop at jcpenney this Christmas, you can ’round-up’ for The Salvation Army and help folks in need.

We think jcpenney is one of the best companies around and we’re so pleased and honored to have their support, now and all year long!

  • I was at the Valley West Mall in West Des moines, Ia. As I was re-entering the JC Penny store there were a couple women at the kettle ringing the bell. I went over to the kettle to donate all the change I had in my pocket and without realizing the ring was in that pocket I mistakenly dropped the ring along with my change into the kettle. I was originally taking the ring to the jewelers to get repaired. Is there any way to check if the ring has shown up and could someone please contact me so that I may get it back. The ring is gold with diamonds on the sides along with a tigers eye in the center. My name is Ray Hanson and my phone number is 515-971-6496.. Please Please and thank you!
