The Salvation Army is supporting 5,000 people with food since many who have recovered from Ebola often return home to find their possessions removed to ward off further infection. No debate about these guns…

Submitted by on January 31, 2013 – No Comment

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s big game-bound ‘guns,’ to be exact.

One of his now-famous ‘guns’ was fashioned into a cake by the culinary artists at Village Baking Co & Cafe in Modesto, California, complete with his Psalm 18:39 tattoo which reads, “You armed me with strength for battle; you humbled my adversaries before me.”

A photo of the tasty dessert went viral earlier this week and orders for the $170 cake started pouring in. So many that the staff at Village Baking had to stop taking orders.

But, they have one more left and are taking $10 donations from folks who want to be entered into a drawing to win it. The money raised will go to The Salvation Army Red Shield in Modesto and 10% of the proceeds from the sale of all the Kaepernick cakes will be donated to the Red Shield too.

If you live anywhere near Modesto and want to enter the contest, please visit Village Baking Co & Cafe at:
1700 McHenry Ave. Suite 18
Modesto, California 95350
(209) 522-9057

The Salvation Army Red Shield staff will select the winner on Saturday evening, February 3, 2013 and the cake will be available for pick up in plenty of time for the big game!
