Retail partners support the Red Kettles and much more

Safeway LogoDuring the holiday season, Salvation Army bellringers are visible at the storefronts of many of our retail partners, but we’d like to take a moment to highlight a couple of consistently supportive companies in the West that always say yes to the kettle: Safeway and King Soopers!

Safeway (parent company of Vons and Pavilions) has helped put food on the table in more ways than one! Last year alone, kettles in front of their California stores raised nearly $1.5 million during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season.

Not only does Safeway welcome The Salvation Army Red Kettle, they hire US veterans, and support healthy kids through their company foundation.

Some of our other retail partners, King Soopers and City Market (Kroger), staged a great event yesterday and called it The Big Ring.

It’s the biggest corporate red kettle takeover in the nation!

Store employees at 144 locations in Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico rang in the season of giving beside The Salvation Army’s red kettles from 3:00 to 7:00PM.

We’re so grateful to Safeway, King Soopers and City Market – as well as their employees! – for their commitment to helping their own communities through The Salvation Army kettles.

Merry Christmas!
