A word of thanks to The Salvation Army’s generous corporate partners

Submitted by on December 23, 2013 – No Comment

Here at The Salvation Army it just wouldn’t be possible for us to do all we do to care for people in need without the individuals and companies who give so generously!

Our National headquarters staff posted this great piece on their blog this week and we swiped it (with permission, of course) so we could also highlight the wonderful work of our national corporate partners.

A couple weeks ago we also posted a list of the retail partners who said yes to the kettle here in the Western US!

Tis the season to be merry and give thanks!

During this wonderful time of year, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude for all of The Salvation Army’s corporate partners who continue to support our mission each year.

Our incredible partners at Target donated $250,000 in gift certificates to The Salvation Army to supplement purchase of toys for children this Christmas.

This year, Walmart once again showed their generosity by holding their annual Fill the Truck Toy Drive, which collects hundreds of thousands of toys for children in need in partnership with The Salvation Army.

In addition, the Walmart Foundation – whose mission is to create opportunities so people can live better around the globe – is helping our efforts to combat hunger through a $1 million donation to support The Salvation Army’s feeding programs, which provide nearly 60 million meals each year to individuals in need.

Papa John’s Pizza

This year alone, the famous pizza company donated $50,000 to support The Salvation Army’s mission to help millions in need. And in May, alongside our Disaster Relief teams, this generous company delivered over 1,200 pizzas to families who fell victim to the destructive tornadoes that ripped through Oklahoma. “Papa” John Schnatter, CEO of Papa John’s Pizza, is also hosting is very own Online Red Kettle- which raise funds for America’s most vulnerable.

As part of the network’s popular Countdown to Christmas campaign, Hallmark Channel is donating $1, up to $10,000, for every person who visits the Wish Map app on their Facebook page from November 2, 2013 – January 1, 2014 and expresses a heartfelt message for someone’s Christmas.

Big thank to Hanes, for once again warming the hearts and feet of our shelter residents by donating 225,000 pairs of socks to benefit The Salvation Army’s residential facilities.

We could not be more grateful to the wonderful stores that allow Salvation Army kettles outside of their place of business. A huge shout out to: JCPenny, Walgreens, Hobby Lobby, Big Lots, Walmart, Sams Club, Kroger and subsidiaries, Macy’s and Bloomindales.

From everyone at The Salvation Army: Thank You for supporting our efforts to ensure service to millions of Americans in need.

Merry Christmas to all!
