Tommy Lasorda and the Army
From the photo archives: in 1980, a Salvation Army soldier and a young man from our Red Shield Community Center in downtown Los Angeles got to meet Los Angeles Dodger’s Manager Tommy Lasorda before the game.

Today is opening day for Major League Baseball! I hope you get to take in a game this season and enjoy one of America’s favorite pastimes.

Of course, I hope you also enjoy one of America’s other favorite pastimes: giving to your favorite charity, The Salvation Army.

:: To give online, find us at www.salvationarmyusa.org
:: To give over the phone, call 1 800 SAL ARMY
:: To find your local Salvation Army unit, click on this link and use the zip code finder in the upper right corner of the page
:: To donate to or shop in one of our Family Stores, please click this link to find one close to you.

Happy Baseball season to you! I hope your team wins (unless they’re playing the Dodgers!).
