Help #LevelThePlayingField for at-risk kids this Back to School season

Submitted by on August 13, 2014 – No Comment

LevelthefieldIn communities across the United States, Salvation Army officers and staff are helping folks put food on the table and keep a roof over their head.

Sometimes they’re helping mom or dad get free of addiction or secure stable employment.

Just like you and me, many of them started to think about Back to School weeks ago. But for some of those we serve, their thoughts aren’t always happy ones.

Moms and dads wonder how they’ll pay for the supplies needed to outfit their kids for the academic year while they struggle to make the rent and feed their family.

And the kids dread showing up on the first day without a backpack, notebooks, sneakers, calculator, lunchbox, or whatever item signals school success for them.

We want to do everything we can to help level the playing field for those kids.

This year we’re doing an all out push to get our supporters and friends to click this link and make a gift that stuffs backpacks full of goodies that inspire kids to learn.

Your donation will help kids hit the books this Back to School season!

Thank you for your generosity.
